District officials formally opened the high school’s new Cardio Fitness Center on March 4, which now nearly completes the district’s $36.9 million capital project.
The new 1,250 sq. ft. facility is the newest edition to the high school’s footprint.
The high school’s physical education faculty, members of the Board of Education, district/high scschool administration and a representative group of students, who have won Section IX and/or NYSPHSAA state championship medals thus far in the 2025-26 school year, joined together for a ceremonial ribbon cutting officially opening the facility.

While the renovated Weight Room, also part of this capital project, opened for student use last November, a ribbon cutting was also held to ceremonially open it in tandem with the Cardio Fitness Center.

Afterward, everyone took a closer look at the equipment, with some trying out some features at the different stations. Formal training for each piece of equipment is continuing as part of professional development work for the physical education faculty and coaching staff.

“Many of our students will be learning how to use this equipment for the first time,” said Timothy Bult, Director of Athletics. “We are proud to provide students with both the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to train safely and confidently. This new opportunity reinforces our physical education and athletic programs’ shared commitment to promoting lifelong fitness, healthy habits, and the overall well-being of every student. Every student will have the chance to use this equipment to strengthen their fitness and support their total well-being.”
