Congratulations to the players and coaches of the Varsity Softball Team, who defeated Valley Central in a 7-6 final at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh today, May 30, to win the 2026 Section IX, Class AA Softball Championship!
"I couldn’t be prouder of our fight today," said Head Coach Shana O'Gara. "This team played with heart, with pride and most importantly, with joy... and it showed. They continued to pass the bat, row the boat and fought for seven hard innings. It was truly an amazing game."
Next up on the road to the state championship: The regional Class AA game against the Section I winner will be Friday, June 5 at Monroe-Woodbury High School at 6 p.m.
