Dear Minisink Valley school community:

Welcome to the 2022-23 school year! All of us are looking forward to what we expect will be the best year yet for Minisink Valley and our students!

We’ve been working very hard over these summer months to ensure our buildings are ready for your child’s return to the classroom setting. Our faculty and staff are ready for a great school year and to provide your child with the best possible academic, co-curricular and athletic opportunities.

Considering what we’ve all experienced over these recent pandemic school years, I truly believe we all can expect this year to be a normal school year, something I know we all wanted to happen for a long time.

Please know our commitment remains on ensuring the good health and safety of our students and staff. Anyone is welcome to wear a mask, if so desired. Building cleanliness will continue to be addressed as thoroughly and regularly as has been our practice during more challenging pandemic times. We know our teachers, staff and students —and you, as parents and guardians — understand that the good health and safety of all in our buildings is a team effort and requires everyone’s cooperation, support and adherence to established policies.

Like you, I’m a parent of children who attend our schools. Like you, good health and safety are my priority concerns. I give you my word that our commitment remains on ensuring the good health and safety of our students and staff. Any decisions we make will put these two critically important needs first.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t remind all of us that this school year does have some COVID-19 unknowns.  I remain hopeful that we won’t need to address any unexpected virus issues. But if we do, we will quickly communicate this to you and follow all required guidance…again, only should we ever need to do so.

The Minisink Valley Board of Education, Central Administration and your student’s building leadership, teachers and support staff are prepared to do everything possible to ensure your child’s success. I know we can count you all as our trusted partners to support our important work.

Welcome back!  I wish all our students and their families a successful, happy and safe school year. Go Warriors!

Sincerely,

Brian C. Monahan
Superintendent
