All District Chorus Festival provides teachable music moments for all school choirs

chorus studentsToday, March 3, the district’s  All District Choral Festival took place, which is an opportunity for the Otisville, Intermediate, Middle and High School choirs to come together and participate in various activities throughout the day.

During the day, small workshops/sessions covering topics such as: songwriting, singing technique, vocal warm-ups, and fun icebreakers were chorus studentsheld.

Additionally, all ensembles performed for one another in a concert format, with the full group learning a selection called “How Can I Keep From Singing?” as a full combined choir. This selection will be performed at the conclusion of the High School Choir’s Music In Our Schools Month Concert on Tuesday, March 7 at 7 p.m.

chorus students“It’s  a wonderful day, and a great opportunity for the students to see what takes place in the program at each level.,” said High School Choir Director Danielle Cornacchio.  “It also provides students the opportunity to work together, and get to know one another from across the district and grade levels. Our goal is to continue enthusiasm for singing and music.”

chorus shirtThe festival was organized and run by Ms. Cornacchio. Middle School Choir Director Pasqua Ventre;  Otisville Elementary Choir Director Skyler Klein;  Intermediate School Choir Director Andrew Fisher.
