Athletics update: ‘Low’/’moderate’ risk sports to begin practice and ‘high’ risk sports to resume workouts on Jan. 19

Minisink Valley’s Varsity Boys and Girls Indoor Track and Boys Swimming programs will transition from their (pre-holiday) off-season workouts to (COVID-19  approved) team practices beginning  Tuesday, Jan. 19.

Parents can register their child via the FamilyID link on this website for workouts.

Gov. Cuomo has approved competition for “low” and “moderate” risk interscholastic sports and this now gives school districts an opportunity to compete at the local level.  The New York State Public High School Athletic Association canceled the winter sport playoffs and championships this past Dec. 11 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Additionally, the Athletic Department’s  winter season’s “high risk” sports (wrestling, basketball and cheerleading) will resume their off-season COVID-19 workouts after school with their coaches on Jan. 19 These conditioning and instructional sessions will follow all New York State Department of Health and NYSPHSAA guidelines.

Winter sport head coaches can be reached for additional practice or workout information/schedules via their email address:
