Congratulations to the four Class of 2023 seniors who graduated today, Aug. 22, during a ceremony honoring and celebrating their accomplishments to earn their high school diplomas.

Receiving their diplomas  were:

• Jorge Ivan Avila Zelaya
• Thomas John-Patrick Carey
• Peter Filiberto Horoshak Garcia
• Joshua Rodriguez

The ceremony included remarks from Principal Kenneth Hauck, who spoke about overcoming obstacles and setbacks; Superintendent Brian Monahan, who spoke about the importance of perseverance while weaving in the perseverance lessons of basketball superstar Michael Jordan; and Board of Education Vice President William Cooper, who spoke about the initial challenges he faced during his early high school years and how he overcame them.

Afterward, graduates, their guests and district administrators celebrated with cake and refreshments.
