Community votes needed! Three Minisink Valley High School students are competing in the 39th annual Congressional Art Competition

The artwork of three Minisink Valley High School students has been selected to be in the 39th Annual Congressional Art Competition sponsored by the office of U.S. Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney.

The entries by Junior Becky Povill and freshmen Alyssa Gale and Sierra Orlando are among the submissions representing the 18th Congressional District.

Now through Friday, May 7, anyone can vote for their “fan favorite” on  Congressman’s Maloney’s Facebook page.  Votes are cast through “likes” for each individual artwork.

A panel of judges will select a grand prize winner from all of the student entries submitted from  18th District.  The winning entry will be displayed for a year in the United States Capitol building alongside artwork from other students nationwide.

Please see their submissions below, and click to Congressman Maloney’s Facebook page to “like” their entries!
