Minisink Valley is proud to participate in U.S. Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney’s “Valentines for Veterans” initiative for local community veterans, area veterans’ service agencies and veterans who live at the VA Castle Point  Medical Center in Wappingers Falls in Duchess County.

Hundreds of handmade valentines and cards were created by Minisink Valley elementary students, middle school and high school students, including National Honor Society students. They were delivered to the congressman’s Newburgh district office to be included in the effort. Last year, over 7,800 cards were contributed to this initiative.

Congressman Maloney and his team will distribute the cards.  In addition to schools, cards also come from families, businesses, and individuals representing the 18th Congressional District.

“Everyone in our district values the important contribution of veterans to our nation’s security and freedom,” said Superintendent Brian Monahan.  “Thank you to our faculty and students for taking the time to create these beautiful cards. We hope they bring smiles to the faces of veterans who receive them.”
