District to ‘go purple’ to support men’s health/’No-Shave November’ awareness efforts on Friday, Nov. 17

Going purple

The district’s Buildings & Grounds team is again spearheading an important effort to support and bring further awareness to activities and events tied to November’s National Men’s Health Awareness/“No-Shave November” Month. Join us and wear purple for the district’s  “Going Purple Day”  on Friday Nov. 17!

Supporters of National Men’s Health Awareness Month take part in different efforts to create awareness of men’s health issues, like “No-Shave November.”

No shave November guys

“No-Shave November” lasts the entire month, with participants not shaving in order to create conversations about raising cancer and other health issue awareness. Many of the Buildings & Grounds team and Central Office staff have pledged to not shave this month.  They’re taking this a step further and using this month as a valuable opportunity to remind everyone that it’s important to prioritize men’s well-being, address health challenges, and promote healthy lifestyles.

The Buildings & Grounds team also wants to remind men that what they save by not shaving can be donated to the Buildings & Grounds initiative to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Checks can be made payable to St. Jude and sent to the B&G office.

Call for photos: Share your student’s purple attire for a forthcoming photo gallery by emailing to communications@minisink.com by 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17!
