Congratulations to the 11-varsity boy and girls outdoor track & field team members who recently competed at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor, hosted by Franklin Field in Philadelphia.
The high finisher for the Warriors was the girls’ 4×200-meter relay team of Kessler Hirsch, Sierra Jones, Zoey Terpak and Rihanna Burgher, who improved their own team record and lowered the outright program record to 1:43.35 with a silver-medal performance in the Rising Stars division.
The relay quartet also qualified for finals in the 4×100-meter relay in the Rising Stars division — narrowly missing the podium in 7th place — and finished 10th in the Championship division of the 800-meter “Texas” sprint medley relay.
Eighth-grader Ella Michelitch and classmate Kessler Hirsch both produced 10th-place finishes in the Championship division of the high jump and the Rising Stars division of the javelin throw, respectively.
Also competing in the Rising Stars division: The boys’ 1,600-meter spring medley relay team of Jacob Hernandez, Vincent Soukup, Ethan Torres and Gavin Rossi finished in 29th place; the girls’ 4×400-meter relay team of Sarah Winner, Zoey Terpak, Sierra Jones and Rihanna Burgher came home in 37th place; and sophomore Jayden Beck recorded a 38th place finish in the long jump.
