Freshman Ella Michelitch wins NYSPHSAA high jump championship!

Congratulations to freshman Ella Michelitch who won the recent NYSPHSAA Championship in the girls high jump event, equaling her freshman class record of 5’9.” She was a runner-up last spring as an eighth-grader.

The varsity boys and girls outdoor track & field teams also fared well in state competition:

  • Kessler Hirsch ran eight total races via the preliminaries, class finals and federation championships, finishing third-place in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, followed by eighth and sixth place finishes in the federation championships.
  •   The 4×100 squad of Rihanna Burgher, Sierra Jones and Zoey Terpak, anchored by Hirsch, advanced to the federation championship after winning their heat and earning a fifth-place finish in the class finals, placing eighth in the federation.
  •  The girls team compiled a total of 11 points in the federation championship merge, finishing third among Section IX representatives and 18th of 67 scoring teams.
  • Junior Gavin Rossi placed 10th place in both the 800-meter and 1600-meter federation championships, placing eighth and ninth among competitors. His times of 1:55.27 and 4:17.81 also eclipsed the program record.
