High School Book Club creatively reimagines K-2 Dr. Seuss’ birthday activities to be ‘virtually’ friendly

Cat in the Hat girlDr. Seuss is “virtually” on the loose!

The High School Book Club recently reimagined the way members celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday with K-2 classes in an engaging way for remote students.

.In past years, students visited Minisink Valley Elementary and read to every class.  This year, because of the pandemic, students Molly Dubner and Olivia Lombardo  created a virtual reading program for all K-2 classes.

The high school students ran a “training session” to teach the other Book Club members how to use the digital books (available to all students in the district) on SORA, the student reading app,   to create a fun and Google meet of kids being read Dr Seuss book interactive virtual reading with the K-2 students.

All Minisink Valley K-12 students can visit www.sorapp.com to create their accounts and access ebooks and audiobooks.
