A group of Minisink Valley High School students had the opportunity to see how marketing, promotion, sponsorships, pricing, game day operations and player development operations are handled in the work world during their recent visit to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. to be part of the New York Jets’ “Sports Business Day.”

Seventy-five members of the Minisink Valley Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Club and Seth Johnson’s sports marketing classes attended the event, hosted by the New York Jets organization. They were among 1,000 students who attended and given an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at everything that goes into running a sports stadium, which also included spending time on the football field!

“Representatives from the Jets front office told students about their jobs and how they got into the sports business,” said Mr. Johnson. “This was a metlife stadiumfabulous opportunity to see how what we talk about in class and during our FBLA club really does happen in real life. This was a very informative, educational and also fun day for all.”
