Today’s CDC announcement about mask wearing is welcome news. However, we need to reinforce that the district is required to follow New York State Department of Health and Orange County Department of Health mandates and guidelines, not the CDC. 

While you may hear of changes nationally, we must wait until the NYSDOH/OCDOH has adopted those to make changes in the school district.

Please consider the importance of getting vaccinated as we await any state/local guidance. As a reminder, the Pfizer vaccine is now available for 12 to 15-year-olds.
