Five Varsity wrestlers won first place in their weight classes at the Boys Section IX Championships this evening, Feb. 14, at Monroe-Woodbury High School.
Congratulations to:
Joe Uhrig, 150-pound weight class
Wyatt Boice, 175-pound weight class
Jayden Pressley, 190-pound weight class
Zack Filip, 215-pound weight class
Tim Duke, 285-pound weight class
They now advance to the NYSPHSAA Individual Wrestling championships, to be held Feb. 27 and 28 at the MVP Arena in Albany.
In addition, Section IX will also send wrestlers who finished in the Top 3 of each weight class to the State Championships due to the Section's success with receiving the highest sectional scoring at the NYSPHSAA championship tourney last year.
