Congratulations to the 14 seniors who have signed Division III NCAA National Letters of Intent (NLI):

student athlete and familyLiam Barry, Keuka College, baseball
Liam is a two year varsity starter and six year member of the baseball program at Minisink,” said Head Coach Joe D’Antono. “He has been an offensive threat, often hitting in the middle of the lineup, and is one of the hardest working players I have coached. He is a model student-athlete both on and off the field, as not only a baseball player, but also a basketball, and football player. He will be missed in the program next year on the mound, in the field and in the batter's box”

Olivia Bohr, Kings College, swimming
“Olivia has been part of the Varsity team since seventh-grade and served as our team captain this past season,” said Head Coach Sam Woodward. “She participated in the OCIAA Championships every year and the Section Championships the past two seasons. Olivia is a great teammate and leader. She is always willing to step up in the hard events and get the job done.”

Gavin Brown, SUNY Orange, baseball
“Gavin is a two-year starter at Shortstop and a key Pitcher for the varsity baseball team over the last two years,” said Head Coach Joe D’Antono. “Offensively, he led the team in stolen bases as both a junior and a senior, as well as having the lowest earned run average on the mound as a senior. He will be difficult to replace next year because of his fierce competitiveness and consistent performance on the field every game. As a six year member of the program, he has contributed to the program in a number of different ways.”

Will Burretto, SUNY Orange, baseball
"Will is a six-year member of the baseball program and two year varsity player at Minisink Valley,” said Head Coach Joe D’Antono. “He has been a major contributor on the mound as a pitcher and as an infielder. Will is a consummate teammate and a pleasure to coach who is always willing to do whatever the team needs. His versatility and offensive skills will be missed next year.”

Gavin Capper, SUNY Orange, baseball
“Gavin has been an important member of the baseball program over the last six years, throughout the modified, JV, and varsity teams,” said Head Coach Joe D’Antono. “As an outfielder and a pitcher, he has been a quiet leader and a role model for his peers and younger players in the program. He has been a consummate teammate and represents Minisink Valley outstandingly both on and off the field. His leadership will be missed next year.”

Ramon Colon, Oswego State, wrestling
"I could spend all day talking about Ramon,” said Head Coach Kevin Gallagher. “He was one of our most dominant Varsity B wrestlers, transforming himself from a .500 JV wrestler into a Section IX placer through grit and toughness. Ramon was never out of a match and always kept his teammates, coaches, and fans on the edge of their seats. He was truly one of the most exciting wrestlers our program has had in recent years.”

student athlete and familyHeather Day, Wilkes University, golf
“A three-year varsity golf starter, Heather maintained her position in the lineup for every match during her junior and senior seasons,” said Head Coach Mark Sweatlock. “Her commitment is reflected in her performance, having lowered her average score by more than 10 strokes since joining the team. Beyond her performance on the course, Heather serves as a dedicated and impactful team leader.”

Audrey DeFazio-Schultz, Hartwick College, cross country and indoor/outdoor track
“Audrey has been a four-year varsity runner for Cross Country and a two year captain of the team,” said Head Coach Ed Sucich. “She also ran indoor and outdoor track for a number of seasons. Audrey’s teammates describe her as being very ‘real’ and that they can rely on her for advice. Audrey was the type of student-athlete that was at practice every day and worked to improve. I actually had the opportunity to watch Audrey develop as a runner from the time she was a little girl as our families used to go to the Orange Classic fun runs and my sons used to run with her and her little brother.”

Timothy Duke, Alfred State, wrestling
“Timmy has been in the varsity lineup for the last three years,” said Head Coach Kevin Gallagher. “He embodies what being a captain is truly about. He is always looking to get better while helping out his teammates on the way. He was a 2026 New York State qualifier, a athree-time Section IX Placer and finished in third-place in the Windsor Tournament "

Tyler Hannigan, Nazareth College, softball
"Last year, injury kept Taylor from fully showing what she could do on the field,” said Head Coach Shana O’Gara. “A lot of athletes would have let that setback define them. Instead, Taylor stayed committed, stayed positive, and worked her way back with patience and toughness. This season, we got to see exactly who she is — not just as a player, but as a teammate and person. Tyler is kind, respectful, hardworking, and a great teammate. She brought speed, energy, and consistency every single day. Whether it was beating out a ground ball, tracking down a play in the field, or doing the little things that help a team win, she is someone we can always count on.”

Kathryn Jones, Misericordia University, cross country and indoor/outdoor track
“Kat has been a four-year varsity runner and a three year captain for the Cross Country team,” said Head Coach Ed Sucich. “She has run all 12 seasons for Minisink. Kat has excelled in her career here both academically and with her running. She is a Top 50 student in the Class of 2026 and was our number one Cross Country runner for a significant portion of three of her seasons. She has won team MVP multiple times and set new PRs several times during her senior season. Kat has done an awesome job mentoring several of our young runners and we will miss her leadership greatly next year. I have had a number of parents and runners tell me how much Kat has meant to them and how much she has helped them progress.”

Shaheed Mitchell, Utica University, wrestling
“From day one, Shaheed showed determination that you can’t coach,” said Head Coach Kevin Gallagher. "Even as a late bloomer in the sport, he closed the gap through grit and consistency. His success is a testament to perseverance and belief in yourself. He was the fifth-place at Windsor Christmas Tournament and the 2026 Gene Brigham Champion."

student athlete and family

Kate O'Neill, Misericordia University, soccer
“As a six-year program member and two-year captain, Kate has been the heart of the team, leading with determination and consistency,” said Head Coach Rachael Moran. “In her senior season, she recorded 15 goals and three assists, making a major impact on the field. Her drive and focus elevated those around her, while her leadership and commitment earned the respect of her teammates. She set the standard every day. Her work ethic and passion made everyone around her better.”

student athlete and familyNate Racz, Alfred State, wrestling
“Unfortunately, Nate’s senior season was cut short due to injury, but he made a tremendous impact on the lineup over the previous three seasons,” said Head Coach Kevin Gallagher. “This past year especially, he showed what it truly means to be a Minisink Valley wrestler. Nate consistently showed up to support his teammates at every opportunity, demonstrating outstanding character and leadership.”
