Five relay teams and nine individual athletes, who are members of the boys and girls varsity outdoor track & field teams, qualified for advancement to the NYSPHSAA State and Federation Championships, to be hosted June 13 and 14 at Webster Schroeder High School in the greater Rochester area.
The State Qualifier competition format advances event winners and those individuals holding either a super standard or at-large standard performance in each of 19 track and field disciplines.


Minisink Valley will send seven event winners to Rochester: Maximillian Wickrath, 100-meter dash; Kessler Hirsch, 200-meter dash; Robert LaBarbera, 400-meter dash; eighth grader Abigail Caputo, 2,000-meter steeplechase; and 3,000-meter run; Ella Michelitch, high jump and long jump; and the boys (Wickrath, LaBarbera, Angel Mendez and Stetson Terpak) and girls (Chloe Beck, Emma Berkshire, Ferrah Hill and Salma Samdaoui) 4x400 meter relay teams.
Also advancing to states by holding either an at-large or super standard: Robert LaBarbera in the 200-meter dash (:21.59); Delila Kronimus in the pole vault (11'6"); the girls 4x800 meter relay team of Kathryn Jones, Danica Martinez, Catharine Sullivan and Caputo (9:35.21); and the boys (LaBarbera, Terpak, Mendez and Castillo (:41.76) and girls (Beck, Hirsch, Hill and Jerlivia Frederick (:49.29) 4x100 meter relay squads.
State championship competition opens on June 13 with event preliminaries and class finals, followed by further class finals and federation championship sections on June 14.
