One fish, two fish…high school’s Book Club visits MV Elementary to read to district’s youngest students

High school kids reading to elementary studentsOh, the places Minisink Valley High School Book Club students went today, March 8!

To celebrate Read Across America/Dr. Seuss’s birthday, club members, along with the club adviser and MVHS Library Media Specialist Dolores Lombardo, visited Minisink Valley Elementary School to read to every kindergarten, first-grade and second-grade class.

This is an annual event for book club members and one of their favorite community service events.

“They love to read and they are thrilled to share their love of reading with the youngest members of the Minisink Valley school community,” said Mrs. Lombardo. “They dressed up in tutus, boas and even hand-made Dr. Seuss character shirts.”

All students, small and tall, had a wonderful time and enjoyed the delightful rhymes of Dr. Seuss and meeting the “cool high school kids” too!
