Minisink Valley parents/guardians:

Please be aware the U.S. Department of Agriculture has ended its funding for the Universal Free Lunch Program that provided school meals to students nationwide at no charge.

Free school lunches came into being when Congress passed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act in March 2020 to diminish food insecurity.

In April 2021, the United States Department of Agriculture extended the program through June 30, 2022.  However, Congress decided not to extend it for the 2022-2023 school year

Because of this, district families will need to transition back to paying for school meals using the existing MySchoolBucks online payment system. Meal pricing for the 2022-23 school year will be as follows:

High School/Middle School
Breakfast:  $1
Lunch:  $2.20

Otisville Elementary/Intermediate School/Elementary School
Breakfast: 75 cents
Lunch:  $2

Adults
Breakfast:  $2.50
Lunch: $4.15

My SchoolBucks allows parents and guardians to quickly, conveniently, and securely pay for student meals using a credit card, debit card, or electronic check. Some families had been using this online payment system to purchase additional items during their student’s lunch period during the time that free meals were available.

My SchoolBucks also allows parents and guardians to view their child’s account balance, receive optional alerts when balances are low, and see what food purchases were made, at any time, from their computer or phone via mobile app.
