Reminder about the need for ample water and appropriate attire for hot weather days

Minisink Valley logoMinisink Valley parents/guardians:

With the hot weather forecasted over the next few days, we want to remind you to be sure to send your child with ample water and to dress appropriately for the weather.

Additionally, the New York State Department of Health rules on wearing masks in school have not changed.  The district must continue to follow this mandate for all students, faculty and staff until updated guidance is provided.

Per the  June 6 communication at 2 p.m. from the New York State Education Department:

“… schools should continue to operate under their existing procedures until further notice.  No changes have been, or will be, made by the executive until after Monday, June 7 to afford the CDC an opportunity to respond to the letter.”

We want to assure you that our faculty and staff are well-prepared to make sure greater numbers of mask breaks will take place to address weather issues.

We appreciate your attention and understanding regarding hot weather issues and mask wearing.
