Six students honored by Orange County Youth Bureau at 2023 Orange County Executive’s Youth and Adult Awards Program.

Congratulations to the following high school students for being recognized by the Orange County Youth Bureau during 41th annual Orange County Executive’s Youth and Adult Awards Program, held June 8 at SUNY Orange.

Honorees are:

  • Shannon Cahill, award: “Outstanding Leadership” Certificate of Honor
  • Torri Erickson, award: “Positive Change Leading to Success”
  • Lucy Hines, award: “Spirit of Success”
  • Isabella Munday, award: “Outstanding Leadership” Certificate of Honor
  • McKensie Polarek, award: “Outstanding Leadership” Certificate of Honor
  • Nicela Vega-Knowles, award: “Outstanding Leadership” Certificate of Honor

“You have displayed amazing strength in the face of challenges, touched the lives of others by serving as role models to your peers, and influenced positive change in our community,” said County Executive Steve Neuhaus in a recorded message. “Your leadership, dedication and motivation are remarkable and help to make Orange County a better place for people of all ages.”

Superintendent Brian Monahan added: “I’ve always said ‘the best of the best’ come from Minisink Valley.  The honorees representing Minisink Valley are truly that.”

The Orange County Youth Bureau’s mission is to promote positive youth development through countywide integrated planning, funding, monitoring, coordinating and developing youth and family services programs for Orange County youth up to age 21.
