Meet Jeri-Ann Lang, Intermediate School aide.

What’s your favorite aspect of your job?

My favorite part of my job has been the phenomenal group of adults and students I’ve been fortunate enough to work with over the past 25 years. I look forward to seeing my peers and interacting with our students on a daily basis.

Why do you believe in and support the work of the Minisink Valley School District and what it does for the community?

Minisink Valley has been a huge part of my life. I am a Minisink graduate as well as my own two children, who participated over the years through many local activities both outside of school and within the school district.  Being an employee and living in our district, I still participate in various functions that help our families, local businesses and our district.

How has this pandemic refocused the work you do every day?

Working through this pandemic has made me realize just how lucky I am to be working with a great group of people, especially my fellow aides.  “The Fab Five,” as we’ve come to call ourselves, have bonded together not only to help each other out, but to do what needs to be done for our principals, our teachers and especially our students.  This past school year we’ve learned to expect the unexpected.

What do you want to say directly to the community about the importance of your work?

Our job as an aide is to assist our principals and teachers.  We’re that extra set of eyes and ears in a classroom, cafeteria, and on the playground.  We’re always there to lend a helping hand, a listening ear and, more importantly, to ensure the safety and well-being of all our students.
