Thirty-four students inducted into high school’s chapter of the National Honor Society

NHS inductees

The 62nd annual induction ceremony of students into the high school’s chapter of the National Honor Society took place on Oct. 21, with 34 students installed as newest NHS members.

NHS officersNHS is a national organization for high school students that seeks to honor students who demonstrate excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service and character. These four pillars have been associated with membership in the organization since its inception.

“These students have demonstrated outstanding   leadership, character and service to our school and our community,” said NHS advisor Dolores Lombardo. ” They  are accomplished  members of our Minisink Valley High School student body and I was thrilled we were able to recognize them and celebrate their accomplishments with an official induction ceremony.”

NHS induction ceremonyIt’s estimated that more than one million students participate in NHS activities. NHS chapters are found in all 50 states, US Territories, Canada and around the world. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.
