Update from the elementary schools on the new instructional plan

Dear Elementary parents/guardians:

Thank you for everything you continue to do to academically help your children through this unprecedented extended school closure. We miss your children and look forward to having our school buildings filled with our elementary students, faculty and staff.

We’re reaching out to provide updates as we near April 15, the date when the district will begin an education plan for students using online instruction or instructional support through self-guided lessons, if remote learning is not an option. At that point in time, new lessons will be provided on a regular basis.

As previously mentioned, elementary students continue to receive school work through their classroom teacher, primarily using Google Classroom. It’s important that students have access to this platform. The district’s website features a page called “Technology assistance during the extended school closure” if you need assistance. This page can also be found on the School Links tab on each elementary school’s web page.  Please email your child’s teacher immediately if you or your children  are unable to access their Google Classroom.

Additionally, in case you did not have a chance to review, an April 6 website post announces changes in the district’s marking period, grading period and expectations. Please be sure you read it.

As we get closer to the start of new instruction, we will provide more information. For now, please know we’re working very closely with district officials and our teachers to create a solid academic framework that provides our elementary school children with the high quality instruction they receive when they are in our school buildings. Please reach out if we can help in any way.  Thank you again for your patience, understanding and your ongoing encouragement to your children as they continue to work on the academic resources provided to them.
