Snowfall on the Otisville/Intermediate/Elementary school campuses gives these school’s physical education teachers opportunities to bring their students outdoors for class to introduce them to fun winter fitness activities!
Otisville Elementary: Fourth and fifth-grade snowshoeing
Otisville physical education teacher Stephanie Giufre is introducing her students to this exceptional cardiovascular workout, which offers low-impact muscle building, endurance building in addition to balance strengthening and agility.
While snowshoeing has gained in popularity recently, it is believed to have originated more than 6,000 years ago in Central Asia.

Intermediate and Elementary schools: Second, third, fourth and fifth-grade snow tubing
Physical education teachers Ross Potter and Theresa Uhelsky are bringing their second through fifth-graders outdoors to enjoy snow tubing fun in the coming weeks!
Snow tubing is an amazing recreational outdoor activity that simply involves gravity pulling you down a slope while you ride on an inner tube. Snow tubing is also a great physical activity because lugging a large inner tube up a hill, after cruising down it, provides a fantastic workout!
