Mrs. Gale's third grade reading class is learning how to compare different renditions of the same folktale using graphic organizers.  The children read a Chinese version of Red Riding Hood and the original folktale.  Then, as a class, they filled in a pocket chart venn diagram to show the similarities and differences between the two stories.  Each student was able to contribute a similarity or difference on a sentence strip.  Ms. Gale's students had a lot of fun with this reading activity.  What a great, visual, hands-on way to learn a reading concept!
