INTERMEDIATE STUDENT WINS VETERAN'S PIN DESIGN CONTEST

We are thrilled that a great honor has been bestowed upon one of the Minisink Valley Intermediate School students.  Emily Raub, a fourth grade student in Mrs. Marasco’s class, has designed a commemorative pin to honor the Veterans of Sussex County.  Emily entered a contest earlier this year, and her design was chosen as the winner!

Emily was recognized yesterday, Sunday, at the Sussex County Fairgrounds for her contribution.  At this Veteran’s ceremony, Emily enjoyed the opportunity to present the  Veteran’s of Sussex County with their pins.  She also had the opportunity to meet several freeholders and officials!

In describing her design, Emily says, “I chose to put the American Flag on for the United States.  The black part is for the Veterans who are missing.”  The Sussex County crest is also pictured on the pin.

Congratulations, Emily!  We are all so proud of you!
