Forty-nine students were inducted as the newest members of Minisink Valley High School’s chapter of the National Honor Society during the chapter’s 63rd annual induction ceremony held Oct. 17.
NHS is a national organization for high school students that seeks to honor students who demonstrate excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service and character. These four pillars have been associated with membership in the organization since its inception.
“Our new inductees are an outstanding group of high school juniors and seniors,” said NHS advisor Dolores Lombardo. “They are leaders and volunteers that give back not only to their school, but to the Minisink Valley community. While academic achievement is important, it is their community service and leadership that make them outstanding. They are truly an inspiration for our community. I am so proud to have them join our existing members who make the high school and our community a better place.”

Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.
