Minisink Valley parents/guardians:

Please be aware of the following important information:

As per Sept. 2 New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) guidance, any student, regardless of vaccination status, with one or more symptoms on this COVID-19 checklist is to be sent home and COVID testing is advised.

Symptoms may appear two to 14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:

  • A temperature equal to or greater than 100F
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Cough
  • Fatigue/feeling of tiredness
  • Nasal congestion/runny nose
  • Loss of taste/smell
  • Sore throat
  • Muscle pain or body aches
  • Headaches
  • Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
  • Feeling feverish or having chills

If COVID-19 negative, fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducers and symptoms improving, the student may return to school with either proof of a negative test or clearance note from the physician. If COVID-19 positive, current quarantine guidelines must continue.

If the student is not COVID-19 tested, the student will have to quarantine for 10 days.

Please contact your student’s school nurse for additional information or questions, including specific questions unique to your student.  Thank you for your attention to this important information.
