One adult family member of each Minisink Valley Elementary School student is invited to experience music class with their child this month, in observance of “Music in Our Schools Month” (MIOSM).

MIOSM’s purpose is to raise awareness of the importance of music education for all children – and to remind people that school is where all children should have access to music. MIOSM is an opportunity for music teachers to bring their music programs to the attention of the school and the community, and to display the benefits that school music brings to students of all ages.

“I can think of no better way to celebrate than making music together,” said elementary music teacher Cliff Loretto. “During this week students are able to invite one adult family member to join them during their regularly scheduled music class and participate in all of our fun and engaging activities.”

Visits are as follows:

Kindergarten – March 11 to 15
First Grade – March 18 to 22
Second Grade – March 25 to 29
If these dates don’t work, Mr. Loretto is planning an evening activity sometime in April.
