Proposed 2020-21-school budget development work continues at Feb. 6 Board of Education Finance Committee meeting

School budget pie chartThe Minisink Valley Board of Education and Administration are continuing their work in the development of the 2020-21 proposed school budget with a series of Finance Committee meetings beginning Thursday, Feb. 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Middle School auditorium.

At this meeting, the following proposed budgets of these areas of school district operations will be discussed:

  • Board of Education
  • Central Administration
  • Professional Development
  • Gifted and Talented
  • Finance
  • Legal/Records Management
  • Printing and Mailing
  • Data Processing
  • Insurance/Special Items
  • Personnel/Records Management

“We are committed to keeping the community informed on the status of our work and what we’re learning from state officials,” said Superintendent Brian Monahan. “We are confident that the proposed budget we will present to voters will be a fiscally responsible one which balances the needs of our students while being respectful to taxpayer dollars. We encourage the community to attend and learn about the detailed work that goes into creating a school budget.”

Additional meetings will be held Thursday, Feb. 20, March 5 and March 26.
