Dear Minisink Valley parents/guardians:

The district is dealing with a shortage of bus drivers for our afternoon runs for the next few days.  To address this issue, our team is working very hard each morning to combine certain routes in order to ensure every student will be safely transported home.

As a result, there could be delays in your child’s normal afternoon arrival time home.

Minisink Valley is facing the same transportation issues all other districts have been facing this school year due to the ongoing labor shortage combined with extraordinary pandemic challenges.  We are continuing our diligent efforts to recruit personnel for these very important positions. Like other districts, it’s extremely difficult to find qualified and interested people to fill these roles, but our efforts continue.

Please know the safe transportation of all our students is our top priority. We are grateful to our Transportation team for their dedicated efforts to provide safe and reliable transportation to our students everyday, and I know our families hold their children’s school bus drivers in very high regard.  I appreciate your kindness and understanding as we work through these challenges and will provide updates as needed.
