The intermediate school was privileged to have a visit from Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther today to address the legislative process for adopting a state butterfly.  The choices among the butterflies are the Karner Blue, the Red-Spotted-Purple, the Milbert's Tortoiseshell, the Mourning Cloak, and the Black Swallowtail.

Today, Ms. Gunther and her legislative director, Steve Wilkinson, came with their Power Point presentation entitled "The Legislative Process and You."  Third, fourth, and fifth graders attended the assembly. As a follow-up, Ms. Gunther stayed for lunch with 38 student council representatives, answering their studious questions about the legislative process, her job, and, of course, butterflies!  All students will participate in a vote for the adoption of a state butterfly.  Stay tuned to the intermediate school portion of this web site for official results!  We thank Ms. Gunther for joining us today.  Her presentation and graciousness were impressive.
