Administrators, office personnel, mechanics and bus drivers – it takes everyone to make sure that our most precious cargo – our students – get to school safely and on time.

As part of School Transportation Employee Appreciation Week – May 15-20 – on Monday, May 15, the District recognized the dedication of Minisink’s transportation professionals with a barbecue served up by school administrators. Transportation staff contributed favorite side dishes and a dessert buffet to the celebration.

“We have a great workforce, dedicated to their job and the safety of the school community,” said Delos Luther II, director of transportation. “This event is a chance to relax and enjoy each other’s company, but it’s also an opportunity to connect staff with school administrators and remind us that it takes a community to do our jobs.”

Minisink Valley’s 94 school buses transport over 4,000 students across 115 square miles, for a total of more than 1 million miles per year.

We thank our transportation department members for all they do to get students to and from school safely and keep our district running smoothly!
