Mr. Hoffman’s Physical Science Class - Physics in Motion

Speed: Golf Ball, Anyone?

In this experiment students will examine speed of a rolling object “a golf ball”.  Speed is defined as the distance an object travels per unit time. Students will come to understand the speed of an object usually increases and decreases as the object moves.  Therefore, the average speed is used to describe the motion. Students will study the forces that affect the motion of the golf ball.

Students will calculate and graph results recorded for average speed.
