Members of the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Otisville-Mt. Hope Memorial Post 5497 visited Mr. Williams’ 7th grade Social Studies class on December 4th to recognize his students for the essays they submitted regarding freedom. The top essays were written by Jacqueline Geller and Kaitlyn Rojas.  Both Jacqueline and Kaitlyn’s essays will continue on in the competition and be further judged in Washington D.C.  Mr. Williams would like to thank the members of the VFW for having the contest and for presenting the awards to the students in person.  He stated “It was nice to see the students express their feelings about freedom in America and then be recognized by some of the people that provided that freedom.”  Thank you to the VFW and Mr. Williams for this exciting opportunity allowing our students to express the importance of the freedoms we enjoy in this country.
