MIDDLE SCHOOL’S FIELD DAY IS LAST BUT NOT LEAST

June 21 was a trifecta of sorts for Minisink’s middle schoolers: the first day of summer, the last day of school and – perhaps most important of all – field day! Summer premiered with warm and splendid weather, and students had much to celebrate and enjoy as they took to the fields with their classmates with a soundtrack of DJ music in the air.

Starting at 10:15 in the morning, and on a rotating schedule, each grade level competed with their period 2 teacher in a round of kickball and soccer. They also had an hour to try out interactive inflatables, including a giant twister board, an obstacle course, a wrecking ball, a joust and a sports game. But in the end, the classical dunk tank won the popularity contest, judging by the long lines!

Courtesy of the Parent-Teacher Organization, students also enjoyed a barbecue and ice-cream treat. Organized by Student Government, the group sold Field Day t-shirts, with each grade sporting a different color.

A great summer to all!
