During football season, the physical education program at the middle school includes a football unit that culminates with the students’ participation in the NFL Punt, Pass & Kick (PPK) challenge. During an in-school competition on Tuesday, Sept. 27, students had the opportunity to showcase their PPK skills and were judged based on distance and accuracy.

The following age-group winners advanced to the regional competition on October 9, in Mahopac, NY:

  • 10-11 Girls: Kaeli Killenberger
  • 10-11 Boys: Ethan Gallo
  • 12-13 Girls: Emily Bannon
  • 12-13 Boys: Tyler Mackie

Ethan Gallo, Emily Bannon and Tyler Mackie were winners at the Oct. 9 regional PPK challenge and now advance to the competition at MetLife Stadium on Nov. 27, before the Jets game.

NFL’s PPK program is a skills competition for boys and girls, ages of 6-15. Established in 1961, the PPK program is the oldest NFL Youth Football program and one of the world's largest youth sports participation programs. The NFL and USA Football want every child to be given an equal opportunity to compete and participation is free.
