CELEBRATE THE AMERICAN SPIRIT WITH THE HIGH SCHOOL BAND: CONCERT NOV. 15


Be inspired, entertained and impressed! The High School Band invites you to celebrate the American spirit at the fall concert on Tue., Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium.


PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Concert Band – “The Tears of Arizona” by Brian Balmages, commissioned to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor
The Wind Ensemble – “The Liberty March” by John Philip Sousa, frequently performed at presidential inaugurations 
Symphonic Band I – “The Minuteman March” by Robert H. Pearson, composed in dedication to the soldiers of the Revolutionary War
The Symphonic Band II – “Bugler's Dream and Olympic Fanfare Medley" by John Williams, the musical theme of the 2016 Olympics
The Jazz Ensemble – “In the Mood,” first recorded in 1939 by Glenn Miller’s orchestra became an iconic Big Band theme during WW II 
Jazz Lab I – “Embraceable You” by George & Ira Gershwin

  

AND MORE! Directed by band teachers Matthew Christy, Joseph Horner and Tom Stickney, the program will conclude with a medley of military themes by all students in the High School Band Program. Don’t miss it!
