Join and support Minisink Valley High School students as they host a Community Connection and Business Expo on Sunday, April 30, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the school’s gym.

The event is an opportunity for the school’s business students and club members of Future Business Leaders of America to learn first-hand about marketing, networking and entrepreneurship—and to interact with the local community.

“We are excited to bring back the Expo to our high school and community. This is a real-life opportunity for our students to apply a wide range of skills and challenge their comfort level,” said Superintendent Brian C. Monahan. “By being engaged in every phase of this initiative, the students make business and community connections that can have a positive impact on their education and career path.”

High school business teacher Susan White sees the Expo as a hands-on networking experience for her students. “All of the activities around the Expo engage our students in team-building exercises with different groups of people. It’s a valuable learning and collaborative environment for everyone,” White said.

The Expo is also the inspiration for district-wide activities such as poetry and art contests related to the theme, “What it means to shop locally and support your local community.”

Minisink’s Community Connection and Business Expo is organized in partnership with Bumble Fly which specializes in connecting local businesses and resources with school districts. The event is expected to attract over 50 vendors, and all are welcome. Attractions include food tastings and product samples, face-painting and magic tricks. Bring the family and join the fun!
